The monastic tradition has its roots in the New Testament practices of withdrawing into desert, following a celibate lifestyle and disciplines fasting. After empire became Christian 4th century these ascetic evolved communities. While took various forms, they developed shared literature, gained recognised place church, while taking different ways life settings church. Western Eastern traditions their own styles life. However, should be as being formed by belonging to same tradition, showing how it can adapt specific social ecclesiastical conditions. In modern world, this way continues bring renewal church ‘new monasticism’ which adapts traditional contemporary communities engage evangelism, serve identify with marginalised, offer hospitality, commit themselves follow rules prayer. Their radical forms discipleship obedience gospel them clearly within continuing tradition.
